The Buchensteinwand. The scenic mountain
in the Pillersee valley.
A lot of exercise in the fresh air keeps you healthy, young and not only physically fit – it is also a fountain of youth for the soul. A knowledge that has long been familiar in the villages around the Buchensteinwand.
That’s why much importance has always been placed on well-maintained hiking trails and the interesting flower trail. Numerous events take place on the “Buach” – as the Buchensteinwand is called by the locals. From Frühschoppen, mountain fairs, guided hikes to mountain concerts, a lot is offered during the whole summer.
The summit of the Buchensteinwand lies in the municipality of St. Jakob in Haus. Through the valley leads the famous “Camino de Santiago trail”, which leads numerous pilgrims through the region. The Jakobskreuz is a place of peace where you can find positive issues and events in and around the cross.
